Yeah... meet up with some cool guys while waiting for the show, and follow them into the pit... make sure one of those guys is about 6'6" and 250 Lbs... so that when he wanders out to get a drink and makes it back, he has one for you to.
Also, get to know the venue BEFORE the show... we lucked out at the GR show and, instead of standing in line outside in February for 6 hours to get front row, we parked in the raised garage and took the catwalk... sat inside with about 30 other people, and were in the pit before the main doors even got opened.
If some chick starts screeching in your ear, inform her that if she doesn't stop doing that, she might be leaving the show minus her tonsils, as you'll personally be ripping them out.
Camera = bad idea.  If you MUST attempt to smuggle in a camera, take a toss-away one, and be ready to have it get snatched by either the bouncers, or the crowd crushing it.
Go to the bathroom BEFORE entering the pit.  Once you're there, do not give up your spot for anything... and be ready for a sudden forward surge when the band starts (especially when Scott walks in your area).  You'll end up about 15 feet closer to the stage instantly, and if you're already on the rail, get a good grip and be ready to push back.
If the bouncer asks if you're okay, say yes.  If you're dying, still say yes... they haul you out if you say no, and you loose your spot.
Don't expect to talk to the band... or give them anything... oh... but 12 Stones will be gathering at the Merch Booth about 15 minutes after their performance.  Listen to them... they'll say where it will be.
Anything else?

Trust me, there won't be a shortage of Stapp sweat... plenty to go around for all 15,000 people if he wanted to distribute it.  Uck.  I was on the rail at the Auburn Hills show in 99 and the Grand Rapids show this past February, and GEEZ does that guy sweat.
I was stage right for the 99 show, and made eye contact with Stapp a couple times from there.  And for the GR show, I was stage left, near the end of the catwalk, and he spent a lot of time out there.  (There wasn't a catwalk at the 99 show, at least not that I remember).  The other band members didn't spend much time on it, though... but Hugo (the lead singer of Tantric) jumped off the end of it right into the crowd.
They wouldn't let anyone touch Stapp - a girl behind me kept trying to give him a rose, and the security guard kept motioning for her to back off, and Stapp just ignored her, wouldn't even look in her direction.  So good luck on that.  Other advice - if you wear glasses normally, don't for the show.  Definitely wear close-toed shoes - preferably steel toed.  A construction helmet probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.  If you're short, bring your own oxygen tank so you can get some air every now and then.  Be aware that you very well may have a bruised stomach/ribcage/wherever the rail happens to be at on you for a few days following the show.  If you're light sensitive, shield your eyes during the chorus to What If.
Anything I'm forgetting, Scott?

been on the rail at a Creed concert------got any good advice for a novice?  Lee?  Jen?  Tara, Sandy, Missy---anybody?  I want sweat and spit or whatever else might be available from Stappy's person to feel free to find its way to me.  I really want to stand on Mark's side, but does it matter as far as getting to possibly touch Scott?  Okay, I am open to anything (almost), so bring it on.............
